The 8-9 Softball All Stars went 4 – 1 in 5 days of competition to win the District 6 banner- This is how they did it-

In the first game, the girls won an exciting game 8 to 7 over Oak Creek. They were tied in the 6th inning 7 to 7. In the second game, the girls played Franklin and lost a close game 10 to 12. This now meant the team had to win the rest of their games to play for the championship. In third game the team played Oak Creek again and won 7 to 6 in the last inning again. The girls now needed to win 2 games against Franklin. In the 1st championship game, the girls hit the ball very well, going through the entire line up each inning, and won 19 to 4 to force the “IF” game for the championship. In the final Championship game the team scored 1 run in the first inning and were leading until the 4th inning, when Franklin scored 2 runs to take the lead. SM came up to bat in the 5th inning and our girls came through and scored 4 runs to take the lead. Then the girls had to play defense to win the game. The girls did with a 3 up and 3 down in the 6th inning. The girls played excellent defense throughout the game and didn’t make an error in the field.
Congrats to the coaches and players!

All Star Update 7-17-2017

Posted by South Milwaukee Little League at Jul 17, 2017 2:27PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

On Friday the Junior team lost a to OC 9-5. The loss put them in a must win position on Saturday against Fexlix Mantilla. The team pulled out a win 16-6. The win put the team in the championship game on Sunday against Oak Creek. Despite a valiant effort they came up short on Sunday. Great season!

10/11 Baseball All Stars played another great Friday night and beat Franklin 21-2. Hector hit another home run. The team advanced to Saturday against Oak Creek. The team won on Saturday 5-1. Adam hit a solo homerun. The team advanced to the championship game on Sunday vs Kenosha American.

Sunday’s result- Coach Lonnie said: ‘They have represented South Milwaukee very well. Unfortunately, their All Star season came to an end on Sunday afternoon with a tough loss of 10 to 8 against Kenosha American. The SM 10/11 All Stars were among 9 teams at this age level fighting for the District Title and had a record 4-2 this All Star Season. As their coach, I can’t say enough of how proud I am of them. I have had the opportunity to watch them grow and give it their all each and every game. They should be very proud of their accomplishments this season and should be very proud of coming in 2nd for the District Title.’

We as a board are extremely proud of all of our coaches and players- win or lose they represented our community in the South Milwaukee Way.

Thanks for a great season!
